Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
GPC is used for sample clean-ups to remove large
bio-molecules such as fats from smaller, analyte molecules. The GPC column contains
molecular sized pores which retain small molecules but lets larger molecules pass through
without being retained. This technique can be used in pharmaceutical and environmental
analyses to help remove interferences or improve the longevity of GC or LC columns used in
subsequent sample analysis.
