Most sample preparation schemes for trace metals analysis by either ICPMS or GFAA require that the sample be dissolved in dilute acid, usually 1% nitric acid. At WCAS we use a variety of techniques including

  • block digestion
  • sealed vessel microwave digestion
  • fusion
  • ashing
  • open vessel hot plate digestion

Our philosophy is to keep the digestion as simple as possible to produce a stable digestate free from contaminants. We use the highest purity commercial reagents, and continuously monitor reagent blanks for contamination. With ICPMS and GFAA detection limits in the ppb and ppt range, control of contamination is very important.
